extraordinary weddings
When a couple from San Francisco contacted me about planning a contemporary wedding in Mexico, I knew just the place: the Marques De Los Cabos. Situated half way between Cabo San Lucas and the historic town of San Jose on what is known as the Mexican Riviera, the Marques de Los Cabos is an architectural masterpiece with extraordinary views of the Pacific. We created a round ceremony area, with views of the pool and the Pacific Ocean. To frame the view and add privacy and intimacy to the ceremony, we surrounded three quarters of the space with a white rattan wall. The serpentine aisle was demarcated with Monstera leaves and large white Calla Lilies. Lucite chairs made it feel as though the guests were floating, giving everyone a fantastic view of the ocean.
Gorgeous shades of violet appeared in every aspect of the wedding, from the bridesmaids’ plum-colored dresses to the orchids and roses covering the tables and the exquisite wedding cake. Elements of the bride and groom’s Persian heritage added a personal touch to the ceremony and reception. LED lighting changed the color of the room from silvery grey to red, then to green, and then back to lavender. After an incredible meal, everyone went next door to a sizzling nightclub decorated in shades of sexy purple and red.
The after party began at midnight, and dancing lasted until 6am. Powered by a fabulous DJ and thousands of tray-passed shots and desserts, guests danced, dined, and celebrated with the bride and groom until the sun rose. Warm weather, a fantastic view, and a wonderful collection of family and friends gave the bride and groom an evening that they will never forget.
