Napkin Fold One:
Fashion these stunning gold Indian necklaces into a looped knot and pull your napkin through. Size does matter, so to make the napkin appear larger, open it entirely and lie the napkin flat on the table with the furthest point away from you. Place your finger in the middle of the top quadrant (see diagram). You can use any necklace or hair accessory, as long as it has never been used before or there is no trace of unwanted hair floss or conditioner left behind.

Napkin Fold Two:
For a more tailored look, fold a napkin in a rectangular shape and place it on top of the plate. The key to the success of this napkin fold is to make sure it has been well pressed and lightly starched. Using a round disk of cardboard, we created a computer-generated nametag.

Napkin Fold Three:
Fold the napkin by making a pocket, tuck a personalized menu inside, and give it a lavish garnish with a slipper orchid placed at the 12 o’clock position, [darling, like a big cocktail ring].

Napkin Fold Four:
Use holiday ornaments and a computer-generated nametag at the end of it for a more casual look. Gold balls tied with personalized ribbon looks festive on top of a holiday table. This will also work for New Year’s.

Napkin Fold Five:
For a chic look, fold the napkin in half and in half again. Using a white magic maker, write the guests’ names on pieces of fruit and accessorize the napkins with ribbons. I always like to designate where people are situated at the table. This is a ritual that has nothing to do with formality but rather to balance the energy at the table, and separate the men from the women. The nice thing about this is it allows for no confusion as to where guests should be seated. More than the food and music, it is the mix of the energy at the table that determines the success of the evening. A savvy hostess will take a good amount of time to designate the seating.

Using the identical place settings, by changing a few embellishments (whether the napkin, napkin ring, candle, or glass), I am able to reinvent the look of the table.
