HOME ON THE ROAD If you find yourself staying at the same hotel and time time again, whether on business or pleasure, make the most of your stay. Get to know the general manager, the room service manager, bellman, and concierge. If you have a pleasant stay, write the general manager a note thanking him and praising those you came in contact with. The note can be left at the front desk or mailed as soon as you get home. Of course, tip the concierge and anyone else that provided you with satisfactory service. Make it a point of getting to know as many of the staff as possible. You’ll be surprised the next time you return; you’ll be welcomed as a familiar face and possibly even upgraded to a better room. Travel Safely. |
