ORDER IN THE HOUSE

I’m always impressed with order, and with offices in which everything has its proper place. When bosses and employees know precisely what to expect on a day-to-day basis, including where to find expense report forms, how to greet incoming visitors, and how to clean their desk space at the end of the day, an office will run with fewer bumps in the road. Just as no one wants to arrive home to an unmade bed or dishes stacked in the sink, no one wants to show up in the morning to a chaotic, poorly tended workplace.

I believe in order not just in my and my employees’ offices, but also in the common areas of our workplace, including our shared kitchen and bathroom. It’s not just a matter of common courtesy; it goes deeper than that. From your business logo to the flowers blooming in the entrance, maintaining an all-around impression of cleanliness, efficiency, and professionalism has a potent effect on how we perceive ourselves and how our clients perceive us.

ORDER IN THE HOUSE

A pile of paper used for recycling on the top shelf. Rubber bands, glue sticks, and assorted office supplies in small labeled drawers. Right on top, the label maker. Reusable plastic folders for inter office communication next to extra ink for the printer. And on the bottom shelf, packing supplies (tape, peanuts, bubble wrap) are kept handy in a large plastic container.
