| Tito PedriniIt's been almost five years since I met Tito Pedrini. It was in Miami during Art Basel. There was a party at the very trendy Casa Tua restaurant celebrating one of the artists passing through town for the art fair, and a mutual friend made the introduction knowing we'd enjoy one another’s company; I have a passion for jewelry, as everyone that knows me well can attest to. Tito and I exchanged contact information with intentions of getting together in New York the following week. I wanted to see his work firsthand, until then I'd only heard how gorgeous his jewelry designs were, and as they say, seeing is believing.
I have tremendous respect for Tito’s design aesthetic. His creations are bold and rich with semi-precious and precious stones. His designs, although contemporary, have a nod to the classics, with an elegant finish. Tito's art captures his passion for beauty and glamour. Whether it's the men’s cuff links with which I proudly accessorize my French cuff shirts, or the beautiful bracelets and necklaces many of my girlfriends wear, or the spectacular pieces I see covered by magazines such as Town and Country, InStyle, and Departures Magazine. I am always dazzled by his level of taste and the workmanship of his pieces.
Over the years we've remained close friends and I've been fortunate to expand my collection over time. Each is special in its own brilliant way. Each a true work of art and a treasure I plan to keep forever. From that very first introduction I feel as if I made a great friend, who happens to also be a talented artist.
Those of us who are lucky enough to own one of Tito Pedrini's extraordinary designs, understand exactly what I mean and proudly feels the same way too.
Tips from Tito
- Cleaning your jewelry: With a few exceptions, soapy warm water and a soft bristle toothbrush are all you need.
- Know when to wear your jewelry: Diamonds are the hardest stones, as most people know, but other incredibly beautiful stones such as peridot are much softer and require much more care. Factor this in when accessorizing for your tennis lesson!
- Explore the deeper beauty of gems: I always keep a rock crystal close to my skin. Gems have been used for healing for centuries.
- Carpe Diem: The inspiration behind my Artigli collection is that you must grasp life and hold on tight just as the Artigli claws clutch the stone.
- Be responsible: Get a colonoscopy and encourage the ones you love to do the same.
