Pour your next glass of Champagne into a flute with a caramelized rim. By cooking sugar in a pan over low heat and stirring constantly, the sugar will begin to caramelize. As it becomes a dark golden brown liquid, immediately remove it from the heat and transfer the liquid to a metal bowl. Carefully dip a Champagne flute into the caramel to coat the rim of the glass, twirling the glass around as it’s removed. Fill it with Champagne or sparkling wine, and even a few drops of pomegranate juice for brilliant color. Non-drinkers can join in the toast with a caramel-dipped glass filled with fruit juice topped with sparkling water. Cheers!
