Celebrating 40 Years of Love, Craft, and Cake 🎂✨

The wedding cake has always been one of the most powerful symbols of a celebration—often the image that graces the cover of People magazine alongside the happy couple. Over the past four decades, we’ve had the joy of collaborating with the greatest cake maestros of our time—from the Queen herself, Sylvia Weinstock @sylviaweinstock, to the King, Ron Ben-Israel @rbicakes , and Paris’s Michelin-starred Bastien Blanc-Tailleur—along with so many other extraordinary artisans.

We’ve dreamed up everything from whimsical and hand-painted creations to sculpted masterpieces adorned with delicate sugar flowers, fondant drapes, and buttercream finishes. Some designs have drawn from family Wedgwood patterns; others were inspired by the lace of a bride’s haute couture gown. One memorable bride requested a cake surrounded by flowers that never actually touched it—so we crafted a three-dimensional garland that floated around it like magic.

And yes, I even designed my own—a masculine, contemporary three-tier creation in sleek metallic grey tiles. A modern symbol of love and artistry, 40 years in the making. 💍🍰

Mini cakes were another innovation. I commissioned Sylvia Weinstock to make 400 of these miniature cakes for a wedding (scroll to the last photo). It was a first for her and a first for me, and it’s a trend that is still going strong today.

Editing these images took me on a 20-year journey down memory lane — a true privilege to have produced so many epic, legendary, and unforgettable moments for Oprah. From her milestone 50th birthday to Quincy Jones’ 71st, Gayle King’s 50th and 70th, Sidney Poitier’s 79th, and the once-in-a-lifetime Legends Ball honoring 20 trailblazing women in arts, entertainment, and civil rights — each of the 60 legends were gifted with 10-carat diamond earrings! Who does that ?✨

We celebrated the opening of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa, rang in New Year’s Eve 2007, produced her 25th Anniversary TV finale, John Travolta’s 50th, intimate dinners for civil rights icons, and even Campfire dinner at her legendary home Promised Land in Montecito for Jeff Bezos.

Working with one of the greatest producers of all time was a master class in excellence — Oprah wasn’t only focused on what happened in front of the camera, but equally what unfolded behind it. I’ll never forget teaching her to sip tequila at John’s 50th…still her cocktail of choice today.🍸

More than a beverage, a well crafted cocktail or mocktail is an experience. It’s about the glass, the shape of the glass, the size of the ice cube, the time of day, and the cocktail napkin that all tell our story…and make the world a happier place. Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a purist—and that I love an exceptionally dry, ice cold vodka martini with a twist of orange in a very fabulous glass. And let’s not forget my signature 120 MPH coffee tequila shots, fueling dance floors way past their expiration dates worldwide! 💃🕺

A Tuscan fairytale come to life. 🇮🇹✨ Our CCL Europe team brought magic to Villa Gamberaia, one of Florence’s most enchanting villas. Every detail captured the essence of a sun-drenched Tuscan summer—fragrant, bright, and full of joy.

For the welcome dinner, guests dined al fresco under glowing bulbs and lemon-dotted greenery, surrounded by blue hydrangeas and wild herbs. The next day, vows unfolded in the villa’s historic gardens, followed by a reception of soft blush, peach, and ivory tones with lush arrangements of pastel blooms.

Dating back to the early 1600s, Villa Gamberaia is one of Tuscany’s finest villas, famed for its formal gardens, terraces, and reflective pools, which have enchanted noble families, diplomats, and artists for centuries.

✨ Contemporary Southern dreams in New Orleans ✨

Our bride was married at her childhood home in New Orleans wearing a breathtaking Vivienne Westwood gown. The ceremony featured a white lacquered aisle lined with towering blown-out roses and cascading orchids beneath lime-washed arches. After saying “I do,” the couple led a boisterous second line parade through the streets with a brass band – a true New Orleans celebration. ✨

Guests dined on grilled oysters, caviar deviled eggs, and Louisiana crab cakes beneath 50 glittering chandeliers in a custom-built glass tent overflowing with orchids, hydrangeas, and greenery. The night ended with glittering makeup makeovers, a neon-lit after-party, and the groom backflipping into the pool. Pure Southern magic. 🤍🪩🌿
