South African Charity, Ubuntu Education Fund celebrated their 15 year anniversary gala at Gotham Hall in New York City. The design and atmosphere was reminiscent of a Starry African night, with projected stars on overhead fabric panels, authentic Sheshwe table linens in purple and blue tones, and African-style shebeen structures. Guests enjoyed South African delicacies provided by Landhaus, Isleford Docks, Madiba, and Great Performances. A series of fabulous performances took place, most notably by Jazz legend Hugh Masekela (whom auctioned off his trombone at the end of the evening!) The fundraiser was an incredible success, far exceeding expectations, allowing the Ubuntu group to better the lives of the children of Port Elizabeth.
