MAGNIFICENT MALIBU WEDDING

ABOUT THIS EVENT

September is my favorite month for a wedding in California. The bride and groom wanted an intimate ceremony so I designed the ceremony in the round and made sure not a single guest was more than 20 feet away from the raised wedding arbor. The bride, a very prominent model, enjoyed a 100-foot long walk to the ceremony site. As they were pronounced husband and wife the couple was showered with rose petals from above. Cocktails were served from the house with panoramic views of the ocean. For dinner I created a long contemporary pavilion that hugged the side of the swimming pool, the longest privately owned pool in Southern California. If you were seated overlooking the ocean you had a magnificent sunset view. If seated at the opposite side of the table you looked onto three shelves holding 1,000 candles. A chandelier of hanging crystals towered over the long floral runner of all white flowers as a delicious dinner created by Wolfgang Puck was served. A post dinner surprise performance by Christina Aguilera got us in the mood for the dance party ahead. The nightclub was created using a truss system covered in navy blue sheer fabric. The entire space was anchored by a dance floor lit from underneath with a ceiling of hundreds of gold stars. DJ’s Khaled and Rukus kept everyone on the dance floor ‘til the sun came up. A good time was had by all!
